Pertisau (950 m above sea level), the most beautiful place on the crystal clear Achen Lake, belongs to the municipality of Eben am Achensee. Surrounded by the scenic mountain ranges of the Rofans and the Karwendel Mountains, this small town with around 600 inhabitants offers an impressive range of infrastructure and holiday facilities. For all activities in nature, the "Nature Park Karwendel" is an ideal starting point:
Countless hikes and mountain tours from easy to difficult, winter hikes, ski, cross-country skiing and bike tours, swimming, sailing, kiting, boat trips and boat parties...
Pertisau (formerly Hubertusau, Rupertsau) is the oldest tourist destination at the Achen Lake. As early as 1470, Archduke Sigismund „Münzreiche“ constructed a hunting castle here, which stood on the site of today's royal house. The Emperor Maximilian was often hunting in Pertisau.
With the launch of the first steamship on the Achen Lake in 1887 and the construction of the Achensee steam cog railway in 1889, tourism began to take off and began its upturn, especially after the Second World War.
Around 900,000 guests have a holiday per year in the Achensee region (Pertisau, Maurach, Achenkirch, Steinberg). Nevertheless, Pertisau is characterized as unspoilt, beautiful location.
